Long-horned Flat-body Carcina quercana

The Long-horned Flat-body is an attractive Concealer Moth. It is harmless, for its caterpillars can be found in trees only, mainly oaks and beeches. The animal is wide spread throughout Europe and Northern America. The adults can be found from June onwards untill November. The Long-horned Flat-body is variable and may show more markings and colours than the ones in the pictures, or less. It is however easy to identify: small yellow line at wing tip, larger yellow spot at the edge of the wing and very long antennae (usually as long as the animal is itself, sometimes even longer).
