Green Leaf Weevil Phyllobius maculicornis

The Green Leaf Weevil is almost identical to the Silver-green Leaf Weevil. Some minute details have to be studied to tell both species apart. And even though it is very likely the animal in the pictures is the Green Leaf Weevil, there is a very small chance it is the green variety of the Silver-green Leaf Weevil. The way of living is almost identical for both species, except that the larvae of the Green Leaf Weevil do not live inside stems, but rather on the roots of numerous trees, shrubs and plants.
